High Speed Wireless Internet for the Mansfield District

Chris Brown from Mansfield Internet and Computers and myself have spent many hours researching and planning a new Internet access system for the Mansfield township and surrounding areas.

We have designed a system that offers a low cost, high speed broadband (ADSL+ Speed) Internet connection and is available in areas where ADSL and other forms of broadband are not available.

Initial interest was sparked when I discovered that the 'ISDN Home' service that Mansfield Weather is operated through was scheduled to be shut down at the end of this year. The options left were either too expensive, too restrictive or too slow. As a result, I contacted Chris from Mansfield Internet and Computers to run the idea of a wireless network for the area by him and he jumped at the idea, having previously considered the idea himself.

This is a very exciting project for both Chris and myself and we are looking forward to been able to bring low cost, high speed Internet to Mansfield community and surrounding areas.

Currently we are in the testing phase and we hope to have the service available in some areas in the next 6 - 8 weeks if all goes well.

Some of the features of the Wireless Internet connection are,

• Low Latency (Unlike Satellite / Next G Connections) - allows VOIP / Online Gaming / Super responsive web surfing etc.
• High Speed ADSL+ like Speeds
• High Monthly Data Allowances (more than Next G / Satellite)
• Significantly lower price than Next G / Satellite
• Locally run with local friendly support (no call centres / waiting on hold / being passed from one department to the next etc)
